Tips for your office...
- Walk off mats are recommended at every entrance, both interior and exterior. Keeping the dirt from entering a building is a priority for a solid Green Cleaning Plan. It's recommended to have 12 to 15 feet of matting at each entrance to help prevent soils from entering a building.
- Plants are an excellent medium to help reduce indoor air pollutants! Keeping Spider Plants, Golden Pothos, Snake Plants, Red Edged Dracaena and Weeping Figs (among others) can not only aid in your Indoor Air Quality by helping to remove indoor pollutants but, also add some life into your workplace!
- Consider exterior forces such as foliage when employing a landscaping expert. Shrubbery, trees and flowering plants can be a beautiful asset and very eye appealing but can also bring into your office unwanted soils and dead foliage.
- While employing a Certified Green Cleaning Firm, avoid bringing from home cleaning solutions and other equipment that will create an unhealthy workplace. Should you require additional cleaning between services, contact your Certified Green Cleaning Specialist. A firm that is truly interested in your health, such as EarthShine Cleaning will be more than happy to assist you with selecting cleaning solutions for your use.
- Create a written office policy that incorporates aspects of healthy living and a healthy workplace. The plan should include recycling and re-purposing office supplies and materials, energy conservation, use of chemicals in the workplace and specifically name products and proper use. It should also stress healthy living and eating habits. It is true that no one should bring their work home but every family will enjoy these benefits and also make the transition from work to home to work, much easier.
